Interview appointment

Last week, I made a interview appointment. My project is about the computer, Professor Laurie Harris is a assistant professor of computer science. So I chose her as my interviewee. I asked some questions about how to learn computer and somethings about finding a job as a computer programmer. She answer my question and tell me some Computer Science Major information. Such as how many courses we should finish as a Computer Science student. In addition, she told me that after I finishing my college, I can find a good job with the knowledge I learn from school.

Pokémon Go is a mobile game and we can not play Pokémon Go in China.

Pokémon Go is a social gaming. When we play this game we should communicate with other player and fight the Boss Pokémon together.

When I play this game, I have to always communicate with strangers in English and it can give me a lot of chances to have a conversation.

Two weeks ago, I watching a APEX which told us some about that we should do what we do and think what we do. It told as that we can learn the life rule by paying attention to the detail of life.

Obviously, my professor Jason Sander learn a lot from this APEX and having a great understand about how to observe our life.

Professor Sander took me to the building, L.S. Aline W. Skaggs CENTER for Health & Molecular Sciences. After arriving in this building, Professor Sander asked me a question, " What's the smell of this building?". And professor gave me an answer, " This is the smell of hospital.". And he told me, "Although, this small don't make me feel comfortable, and I don't like this smell. However, this smell can make me safe, it can eliminate bacteria. ". He also took me to see some clinical practice, and we saw how the students learn knowledge about medical treatment by practice.

When I leave left the building, L.S. Aline W. Skaggs CENTER for Health & Molecular Sciences. Professor Sander asked me how many times I have been there. I said I have not been there. And he said that I always pass by this building but I saw nothings about how the people work in here. And then he was looking at the person who are in front of us. He said that this person who are working in his own phone can not know the atmosphere around him. He isn't in here and He is in his phone.

This day, Professor told me her ideas about how to life. He said that we should give ourselves one-time chance to touch our life every day. In this time, we should forget our phone, forget our e-mail and just feel about our body. We should feel about the atmosphere around us, we should see what we see and we should smell what we smell.

Today, I read a book, named " GOVERNING PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS"

It looks like that it is difficult  for me to read it.

I have learn a lot of conceptions about partnerships. I know what partnership is and I learn how partnership works between different relationships.

Actually, I can not understand what this book talk about in somewhat. I try to understand it by checking the professional words one by one. Checking words can not let this book become very easily to understand, but it really have some help for me.

Elephant Wisdom

Kerstin Plehwe used some example from the animal to tell us how to improve ourselves. She told us that we should "strive what you want ". She said that nothing is complicate and when you do it, it would be simple.

She said that questions change out life and ask us to " trying for dream". All of us should smile to face and just do it.

She said that all of us have comfort zone. But we still need to try new things.

She gave a lot of the example about elephant and lion. And told us some rule that we should know.

• Teamwork
• Rest, Breath, Rethink
• Mastering Mindfulness
• Use all your sense
• Learn to say NO
• Dare to be you

And then, she show us a video of elephant. At the beginning, all of the audience did not know what she want to say. And she told us that this video recorded the special action that the elephants do with his group. The elephant sound and feel with each other, what's more, they feel how other elephants feel. Hoe they do this difficult things? They did this by stopping and using sense.

"The future of work won't be about college degrees, it will be about job skills "




When people asked me why I came to school to study, I would said that it is for my future. Because I want to improve my ability and potential.

However, This article told me that going to college can't give us the security of holding our job. Company play more and more attention to the ability of person instead of the degree of person. And both of the top 20 fastest-growing skills do not need a degree.

I can say that we should never stop learning and we should spend all of our life on learning.

Last weekend, I had a special day. I want to say it is a happy day, but it wasn't.

As what I planed, I went to ski. It must be my impressive remembering. Although it is not my first time to ski.

This is not a happy day, But I still feel happy this day. This is my third times to ski. The first two time of skiing happened in several years ago. When the time I was much lower than now, my parents took me to the North places of China to ski.( I was lived in the south place of China). I totally ski for twice time and I was teached how to ski for one time. I can say that I know nearly nothing about ski. But I did a good job about skiing. I am course enough to ski. I fell on the ground several times and I can insisted in trying.

Why I do not talk my personal photos here? It is a great question. The reason of that is I can not do this. I am not going to say I don't want to, what I want to say is that I want to do this but I don't know how to do this.


Why I said that today I feel happy, but today is not a happy? Why I do put my personal photos in my blogger, instead, I put a photos from SUU website into my blogger.

All of this things is because that I lost my phone. When I was skiing, I feel so happy. However, when I came back and found that I lost, I feel so said. It is a happy and unlucky day.

Today, I saw the Book, "Utah Driver Handbook". This book told me somethings about the driving. When I was reading it, there are so much vocabulary that I do not understand. I have to guess what it mean most of the time. It is impossible for me to check hundreds of millions of words. And I also check some vocabulary's meaning in order to understand what the context say.

TED talks “The Self-organizing Computer Course”

It is a awesome TED talks. When I was watching this video, I think Shimon Schocken is such a selfless person. In order to help other persons really know about computer in a short time, he made an excellent system, NAND. Why did he made this system. The reason of that is because he known the problem computer leaner face. This is that we can not look at how the base of computer work. If you want to really know about computer, you should lean about how the base of computer work. When we are using NADA, we can make a software or computer from the basic construction of computer to the result. You have to experience several necessary process to get a composition when you are using the NADA. This several computer programming process is essential for us to understand the computer. So, you can understand NADA play such an important role in studying computer programming now. And this is the reason why I think Shimon Schocken is such a selfless person. His DANA is so helpful for everybody who want to learn about computer.

Making a snowman

Snowing always happen in Cedar City. Although it is beautiful, some people still do not like it. what is the reason? This is because snowing would make it difficult for people to drive. It is very easy for vehicle to slip in the snowing day. You can see that cars would drive very slowly. But I do not care about it and I like snowing. Because it is so beautiful and we can make snowman.

Today I made a snowman. I can remember that professor Silvia told us that we must make a snowman in the first year I come to SUU.

 

This is the snowman I made, and this is the first I made snowman.

I think making snowman is a interesting activity. I have to try to make a snowman by myself. Nobody tell me how to  make a snowman. So I have try some way to collect the snow and stress it together. I can find that trying to a new thing can make me fun.

Career Center

Last week. I attended the Activity " Career Center".

It is a big activity for the SUU students who want to find a job. Some employer who want to hire someone would through this event to find people.

I have talked to someone in this event and I know that there are two kind of job, on-campus job and off-campus job. If you work in the off-campus job, you can get more money. But you can not do this job unless you have the Social Security Number. It mean that if you are an international student, you can only find a job on-campus. 

However, I do not care about which king of jobs I can get. (Actually, I want to get a job which can earn more money, But I can not)

I still listen the conversation that the staff talk with other SUU student who is not an International student.

The staff said that her company would think about the student who want to be a employee about his GPA, his leadership and so on.

     This is SUMA ( Southern Utah Museum of Art). It is a nice Museum where near to the SUU ( Southern Utah University). There are always some exhibit which are display in the SUMA. I had attended some exhibit which was hold in SUMA when I am study in the ESL class.

    Last Week, I attended an exhibit again in SUMA.

There are some artwork above which I think it is the best artworks. Each of them can attracted me, and let me really want to think about what it means.

             

This one called " Ozo Butte". It can give me the strong three-dimension feeling. The mountain in this painting can give me the real feeling that there are a mountain in front of me. I can say that the creator is very good at making the use of color and line, He use different degree of colors to tell me the state of different places of mountain. It can tell me that this place of the mountain is positive or negative. And the adapted lines also play an important role in this painting. Creator use the adapted lines to make this painting become more real.






   
                                                                                                                                

   

When we look at this painting closer and closer, we can really think out how the colors and lines work and make a wonderful artwork. It make a good use of the colors and lines. Does it make sense? Actually, you can find that if we look at this painting close and closer, you will find that it does not look good as good as before. It is because that all of them work together. As what I said before, this painting consisted of different colors and lines.


   

This artwork give me the similar feeling like the one before it. It also use the lines and color to make this artwork. But there are also some different between them. It is obvious that the lines is more "rough" in this artwork. However, these "rough" lines can still make a painting that it is so good.

This artwork was made by using some coarse lines. But this artwork does not look like coarse. It can give me the alive feeling. Artist used some simple lines to make a stereoscopic feeling. The lines is so simple that it can made by a kid. But when it work together, it describe the detail together. It seem that the artist really know the characteristic of different lines. It work that the artist use the ability, which little kid can have, to create a wonderful artwork. It is all depend on artist's insight on the simple lines and the things he drew.

Today, I participated the A.P.E.X.. I think it is a good practice for me to improve my ability.

I was late for five minutes. When I came into the meeting room, my first idea was that this is such an awesome presentation. The presentation had been held so there is so quiet here, anybody paid attention to the presentation. this meet room is so beautiful, it gave me the feeling of classicality. In this moment, the presenter was talking about one of the archeologists, his name is Willian. Except as a archeologist, he is also a general and a musician. As time went, the speaker told me about some persons who work as an archeology. Most of they have different jobs. Such as, general, musician, teacher and so on. speaker told me about the route that the archeologist went to find the heritage. He also showed me a lot of the pictures about the heritage.

In the last part, he told me that when he worked as a archeology, it is not as interesting as you think. To be honest, it is few funs here, but there are also have plenty of hard works. For example, you have to write lots of pages. He also told us that as a archeologist, you have to write what you research for. It means that you could not write down that it is such a bad weather. he said that as a archeology, he job is to display what he know. He wants to tell people about how ancient people live and what they live as these ways.

This is my note about this presentation. I have written some names of the archeologist and their other jobs. There are also some notes about the names of the heritage. I have also written some notes about some other things of what the presenter said. For example, there are an archeologist who like the photography. This archeologist had donate some picture which are about the archeology to Utah.
